Review of Dumbo (1941) by Donald B — 15 Jun 2010
Dumbo is a cute, adorable little elephant with big ears who is teased by uncaring animals and cruel humans, thus creating low self-esteem and loneliness. Fortunately, a friendly mouse shows him the way to happiness. A touching and sweet story of his triumph over physical awkwardness and the title character is one of the most endearing animated creatures I've ever seen. My favorite part of the film is when the crows sing "I've Never Seen an Elephant Fly".
One point to consider....What could be more traumatizing to a young child, than the loss of one's mother so be careful when letting the younger kids watch this one.
