Review of Dumbo (1941) by Ryan V — 16 Feb 2012
Dumbo tells the story of a newborn circus elephant who is ostracised because of his oversized ears. The narrative sequence for this movie is a little odd, but one has no problem feeling empathy for little Dumbo's plight.
(The scene where Dumbo's mother rocks him gently to the tune of "Baby Mine" is utterly heartbreaking) The scene with the jive talking crows is an unfortunate reminder of America's dim past, but aside from that Dumbo is a whimsical and likable little movie.
