Review of Dumbo (1941) by Luis R — 20 Jun 2013
As with so many Disney classics, it's a classic because it touches you in a deep way. When Dumbo is humiliated, you can almost feel his humiliation. When he flies and redeems himself, you feel that happiness and get those happy chills that run down your back.
Disney had always succeeded at making relatable and characters the audience can love and be sympathetic with. That's why Dumbo succeeds. An extra 30 minutes would have benefited but nevertheless a warm, fun film.
