Review of Dumbo (1941) by Marc G — 29 Jul 2010
"Dumbo" is such a strange movie. It's very cute, and very Disney... but also really short and the resolution doesn't happen until literally a couple of minutes before the movie ends. Then of course there's the funny (but let's face it - racist) black crows.
.. but hey, it was a different time. The crows wouldn't be like that if they remade "Dumbo" today, but they really aren't a big feature of the movie anyway. It's just a short kids movie about an elephant who is born with abnormally gigantic ears and learns that he isn't a freak of nature - he's unique.
