Review of Dumbo (1941) by Dean W — 15 Oct 2011
The fifth full length animation movie from the Disney studios, this one had to make money and it did. Not as dark or innovative or groundbreaking as Snow Whit, Pinocchio, Bambi or Fantasia it the most accessible and set the format (simpler animation and story) for many loved movies to follow.
An unusual drunken elephant scene which was intended for Fantasia is included as the little elephant gets drunk by mistake. The movies that were to follow were cookie cutter money makers.
