Review of Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003) by Eric On His Fantasy Quest V — 16 Sep 2009
Before the first movie, Dumb And Dumber, there was high school. They missed the bus. And it was dumb at first sight, when Harry and Lloyd first met and became best friends in the mid-1980s. Meanwhile, to earn as much money from scams, Principal Collins and his lover, Ms. Heller, create a special needs class to sign up special students - including, among others, Harry and Lloyd. School news reporter Jessica is suspicious of the new course and frantically tries to uncover the truth behind it.
Directed by Troy Miller, Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd features great acting performances from the following cast:
1.) Eric Christian Olsen (Lloyd).
2.) Derek Richardson (Harry).
3.) Rachel Nichols (Jessica).
4.) Eugene Levy (Principal Collins).
5.) Shia LaBeouf (Lewis).
Dumb And Dumberer may be stupid and stupider, though like its predecessor, it's still funny and funnier to me, and not as bad as what the critics think. Or stupiderer and funnierer - but let's not explain the extra "-er" suffix so I can review this film title. Both Derek and Eric were very good in performing the younger versions of Jeff Daniels' and Jim Carrey's characters, respectively, and it's easy to tell that they facially looked alike. The film has its share of comedic moments as its quality matches those of the original, and it reminds me of your average '80s teen flick. In conclusion, yes, I did like it.
