"Dumb and Dumber To" 10 Scale Rating: 6.0 (Decent) ...
The Good: While it wasn't as funny as the first film, there were a handful of laugh-out-loud moments. Carrey and Daniels seamlessly return to the characters that made famous 20 years ago without skipping a beat. The supporting cast were up to the task as a "group straight-man" of sorts for the leads. If you're a fan of the first film, you will find some humor in this offering and will enjoy the nods to the previous installment.
The Bad: However, if you're not a fan of the first film then you will absolutely hate this one. Comedy has changed quite a bit in the last two decades and they tried too hard to push the envelope to keep up here. It just felt forced at times and far too many of the gags fell flat. On top of that, the film tried to rely too much on gross-out humor which felt unnecessary. While I was initially fine with the idea of a sequel (even this many years down the road), the film itself pretty much changed my mind.
