Review of Dumb and Dumber To (2014) by John M — 28 Jan 2016
There was no way a sequel to one of the greatest and most iconic comedies of all time could ever live up to the hype. Dumb and Dumber To was no where near as funny as the first but that doesn't mean it was a bad movie.
Carrey and Daniels were still hilarious and there were many laugh out loud moments that stick out in my mind. I was disappointed to see how they re-did so many of the scenarios from the original and tried to rehash jokes based off that.
While some of them worked, most of those scenes failed and were just there simply for the fans to make a connection to the original. Some of the jokes were just a little to crazy and made Harry and Lloyd seem un-human at times and took away from the realistic nature of the film.
The big thing here is that you get to see what happened to 2 guys who everyone loved and laughed at back in the 90's. You can watch this and criticize it for not being as good as the first but thats ok, its funny in its own right and it was just great to see Carrey and Daniels back on screen together as idiots doing stupid things.
If you liked the original in the slightest you have to see this one, no doubt.
