Review of Dumb and Dumber To (2014) by Brandon W — 21 Mar 2016

The Farrelly Brothers directed the sequel after many years and has six writers involved in this which is usually not a good sign to see. The surprising thing about it, is that Dumb and Dumber To is the best sequel that you can get from a Dumb and Dumber movie, especially if it has been a long time since the first Dumb and Dumber, even the prequel if it counts.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are great and they tried their best to make it funny. The plot is essentially the same which I'm actually fine with, and a lot of jokes were really stupid, but funny. Some of the jokes however, are unfunny and can be groaning at times.

The characters are enjoyable like the first film, although they are more mean-spirited here. Rob Riggle is really funny, and while one of the villains are funny, it's the same kind of characters you seen a lot in films these days.

So while the sequel could've been improved, Dumb and Dumber To us a good sequel that could've been a lot worse, but I'm glad it didn't.
