Seemingly inspired by Jorge Luis Borges, Cammel + Roeg's Performance and the inspiration for Lynch's dreamy/hazy Eraserhead this movie has a pure cinematic voice that takes the breath away (and at a time when UK filmmaking was on its knees).
Standout. :-).
