Review of Due Date (2010) by Jillian L — 03 Feb 2012
This is one of those stupid funny movies. And I have no regrets. I can definitely tell it was the director of The Hangover because it was a basic plotline with a series of random hijinks that the main characters get in to.
The stuff they get into is absolutely hilarious though. Peter punches a kid in the gut, a fight with a paraplegic war veteran, border patrol, pot all over the place, Iâ(TM)m still trying to figure out how they didnâ(TM)t get arrested haha.
Zach Galifianakis is hilarious as Ethan. He nails the whole aspiring actor who actually has no clue what theyâ(TM)re doing thing perfectly. Freaking hilarious. When he tried to use one of his headshots as a photo ID I was dying.
Robert Downey Jr. is great as well with his random tirades and his ability to be livid in .2 seconds is really funny. Also, really funny performances by Juliette Lewis and Jamie Foxx as a pot dealer Ethan found on Craigslist and Peterâ(TM)s friend from Dallas, respectively.
Overall, a really funny movie that does have some heart in itâ¦but itâ(TM)s mostly just insanely stupid funny.
