Review of Due Date (2010) by Lewis E — 14 Mar 2013
A road trip with an unlikely duo is nothing we haven't seen before but I think this one is smarter than the average. Zach Galifianakis is pretty much the same weird oddball from Hangover, meaning a significant portion of the gags feels like you've seen it before, but it works well against Robert Downey Jr's stuck up, impatient personality.
Clearly thought had gone into the casting for the two male leads, a good guess says that the story was made with them in mind. It does a successful job of mixing decent comedy with the necessary emotional undertones and character bonding inherent in this storyline.
There aren't enough comedy bangers so it isn't a laughfest but there aren't that many duds so it kinda shows that they made a good effort.
