Review of Dude, Where's My Car? (2000) by Rebekah M — 02 Sep 2009
Do not take this movie seriously. If you can take it for what it is--a very silly and funny ride through an improbable series of events--then you'll enjoy it. A basically funny movie with some truly brilliant bits throughout; the "Chinese Foooood" scene as well as the mini music video (Bust a Move, a classic) will have you rolling.
This is what goony movies used to be like before they lost their subtlety. Plenty of nods in this one, without being outright satire: Real Genius, Bill and Ted, and many more have their influence in this one. Oh, and Fabio turns up for a minute.
Good stuff to just turn your brain off to.
