Review of Dude, Where's My Car? (2000) by Thomas M — 18 Dec 2018
I was expecting a good comedy on par with American Pie or Road Trip but this movie isn't anywhere as good as those films. Dude, Where's My Car? wasn't screened for critics, which means that Fox didn't want word leaking out about the film's poor quality until after it was given a chance to sucker some unfortunate souls into opening weekend screenings.
If you're one of them, my sincerest condolences. (Hey, I sat through it, so I know what you endured - but, at least in this case, a pain shared is not a pain halved.) The only way to enjoy this movie is to take a lesson from Jesse and Chester(The titular dudes played by Ashton Kutcher and Sean William Scott) - drink and/or inhale enough of one or more controlled substances so that, upon waking up the next morning, you won't remember that you gave up time and money to sit through this hour and a half's worth of wasted celluloid.
(One time watch at best, or just re-watch American pie).
