Review of Drumline (2002) by Mark L — 01 May 2011
You're not a musician if you can't read music. Hell yeah! This is one of my favorite movies. I love marching bands ever since I was in grade school. That's around 1978 to 1980. Ssshhh, I'm old.
LOL I've always been fascinated with our local town's marching band competing with other cities. Unfortunately, there's no marching band in my school. At least, none that I knew. Anyways, I love the discipline that this movie showed.
Music, as one hears it, seems so easy. Not really. It takes a lot of sweat and tears. I've learned it that way. The movie showed great bands, live music, line formation and choreography. I can watch this movie over and over again.
Talent is talent. But if you soar up high and never keep your feet on the ground, it's a painful fall. Can't reach success in a snap. It takes a whole lot of time to attain greatness. In music, it takes a whole lot of time studying notes and musical measures.
So yeah, I totally love this movie.
