Review of Drumline (2002) by Matthew O — 03 May 2014
Drumline is a movie that is so generic that it almost isn't a movie anymore, like it's risen to a higher state of being that is just a form of the vast universe incarnate. It could also just be so cliche it's hard to sit through without spacing out.
This is one of those movies where it isn't really bad, just afraid to do anything different or pull a few risks. Everything here we've seen before, and a lot better done. If I had to sum up this film in a sentence, I'd say it's like an afterschool special released in theaters, only more positive.
