Gus Van Zant is undoubtedly one of the best directors in America & this movie is one of his best. The portrayal of drug addiction was gritty & raw: Very believable. And Matt Dillon PROVES that he's more than just a fluke.
I don't understand why he never got more roles like this at the time. Excellent!!!!
