This is my first foray into Johnnie To's work and damn is it a fine introduction. I won't lie, the story doesn't slow down for a second, but the visual acuity of the camera work helps ease the viewer into the hornet's nest of cops and kingpins without confusing things, solidly keeping the story in check even as more characters appear and the events descend into absolute cluster-fuckery.
4/5 For fans of 24 - seriously, Honglei Sun is a serious bad-ass and could more than likely Keifer Sutherland a run for his $$$.
