Review of Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) by Mike B — 22 Sep 2012
I actually have real soft spot for this film, although I admit the satire isn't particularly sharp and the black comedy isn't quite as well judged as others in the genre. It's not far off a good Christopher Guest-style mockumentary with some very amusing moments.
The cast is great though with some fresh faced talent, and some great character actor veterans, like Janney and Malloy. I had never realised Amy Adams was the manically bubbly blonde, and Kirsten Dunst is very likeable, and endlessly cute even tap-dancing round a mortuary in baggy jeans.
