Don't get the lack of love for this flick. Phoebe Cates is adorable, Tim Matheson appropriately slimy and Ron Eldard so adorably earnest. The cast is rounded out well by Marsha Mason as the beastly mother, Carrie Fisher as the wise-cracking best friend and a nice cameo by Bridget Fonda as the vixen.
Of course, the whole shebang is roundly stolen by the over-the-top performance of Rik Mayall. Loved him in "The Young Ones" and he shines even brighter here. Cheesy & fun - I love it!
