Review of Drop Dead Fred (1991) by Tiffany B — 16 Jun 2018
This is one of the most influential movies of my life. From childhood to early adulthood I've cherished this movie, and am completely disheartened at the bad reception of this movie. This movie is more than a simple comedy, it's a commentary of psychological disorders and the necessity of remaining true to yourself and expressing your childish side even as a fully grown adult.
Elizabeth manifests drop dead Fred in order to escape the abuse of her parents as a child, and then, reaching adulthood and going through major crisis, her imaginary friend is conjured again so that she can cope with the disasters in her adult life.
This movie is a hilarious and heartwarming journey through self discovery. Anyone who can't see the value in this movie is completely blind to the true meaning, and needs to reevaluate their self awareness.
