Review of Driving Miss Daisy (2015) by Jeff H — 13 May 2008
I saw this back when it came out on VHS but I watched it again on the weekend. It's a good movie for those Saturdays when you just want to sit around and watch movies. I remember this movie being better than this though.
I like the relationships between the characters and Miss Daisy is a truly believable stubborn old woman. My problem with the movie is that everything is so simple. They skirt around racism and conflict but stick pretty strictly to the relationship between the two main characters.
I won't bother mentioning the dreadful theme song. Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy, and Dan Aykroyd were all good but I think it would take more to win an Oscar for best picture today.
