Review of Driving Miss Daisy (2015) by Sam R — 30 May 2009
Seeing this now so many years after it came out it remains a fantastic movie. Is it really an Oscar movie? Well, now I would debate it as it really isn't much more than a great little theater piece carried through by Morgan and Jessica. The story itself being simple showing how different culture can through time develop beautiful friendship. However, it doesn't really take many changes or make us question society or people do any great length. It could even be criticized as painting the relationship between the white and black people at that time as sweet and innocent, where everyone was pleased with their place in society.
It has to be said though that the film is beautiful and touching.
