Review of Driving Miss Daisy (2015) by Russell G — 30 Dec 2011
This movie is both humorous and heartwarming. There is excellent acting and superb character development. The movie is beautifully paced and it makes it more effective to watch the characters change and grow in a very natural and believable manner.
It pulls at your heartstrings to watch this judgmental elderly Jewish woman transform and come to care about and identify with her driver, who she initially rejects. Morgan Freeman is phenomenal and brings so much warmth and wisdom to his character and really made the movie.
Jessica Tandy does an amazing job as well making a complex character that is more than just your average crotchety old lady. We commiserate with Dan Akroydâ(TM)s character and he does a surprisingly good job in a dramatic role.
This is a classic, one of my top 100, with amazing acting and I highly recommend it.
