Review of Driving Miss Daisy (2015) by E F — 16 Jul 2012
A movie about the characters more than the story itself. It starts in the 1950's and ends in the 70's and deals with the social issue of racism, but kind of lacks real tension or conflict. The acting is great, and maybe would be better to see as a play, which I think it was.
Morgan Freeman is great, seeming to master the art of controlling his emotions. Not too much unlike Anthony Hopkins in "The Remains of the Day." What I thought was interesting too is how both Hoke and Daisy live this whole life it seems, after they are already pretty old, being maybe both in their 70's at the start of the film.
