Review of Driving Lessons (2006) by Michelle G — 26 Apr 2008
This is one of those nice, warm and quirky films that regularly comes out of the British isles. It's a bit predictable and Rupert Grint is, sorry to say, the weakest link. It takes far more to keep up with stellar and prime actresses such as Laura Linney and Julie Walters. Though a feeling a bit routine, both these actresses shines in this film.
The film is somewhat unfocused and scattered all over the place, you never get to understand nor care very much for any of the characters, especially the protagonist himself. Which is a shame actually, since it is a very cute film and not the worst script either.
