Review of Drive Angry (2011) by Max E — 19 Feb 2012
Maybe I'm getting old, but a modern trend seems to have films sink in the middle, and their energy drained by character development after selling themselves as a big noisy action flick. The opening five-ten minutes were a lot of fun; tongue in cheek, over the top, raunchy stuff, enticing preview - we hope - for the rest.
Sadly, it lost its way, the characters were dry and we stopped caring about them. The CGI was terrible and seemed to include blood splatter and bad post colouring. This could have been another Machete, but frankly it should have stopped once they started driving.
On a side note, I hope Cage retires as soon as possible.
