Review of Drive Angry (2011) by Curtis M — 03 Apr 2012
Bad ass motherfuckers are never fast enough.
A satanic group of devil worshippers are lead by a being with supernatural powers of sorts. He sleeps with members of his cult and when one young lady doesn't wish to perform as requested, he brutally murders her. Her father, who is long since dead and in hell, decides it is time to return to Earth to serve vengeance for his daughter's murder.
"If he puts that dick anywhere near my face again I'm going to bite it off.".
Patrick Lussier, director of The Prophecy 3, Dracula 2000, Dracula II, Dracula III, My Bloody Valentine, and White Noise 2, delivers Drive Angry. The storyline for this picture is inconsistent with some fun aspects and some underwhelming scenes. The action scenes were awesome and the use of the cars was very entertaining. The cast delivers average performances and includes Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard, William Fichter, and Charlotte Ross.
"Want me to tell everyone what I caught you doing with my pink dildo.".
Drive Angry was a movie that grabbed my attention when I saw the marvelous cars (1969 Dodge Charger and 1970 Chevy Chevelle) they selected for this picture. I did really like this movie but the satanic villains were frustrating at times. I loved William Fichter's supporting character as he hunted down the main character and that sub plots were pretty good. Overall, this is an above average action film that is worth a viewing.
"Once you open those doors you can't close them.".
Grade: C+.
