Review of Drive Angry (2011) by Christine C — 07 Apr 2013
This film has toned down violence but weird absurd effects which ruined the film's credibility. Cage did a semi-good job portraying a hardened felon who wants redemption. Amber Heard did a good-but-not-so-good job as well.
The film was not great, but I think the audience had been oriented that it's actually very crappy by the release of its trailer. The action scenes were over the top. The effects were overwhelming since it was overdone.
The story... well, something's in there but it wasn't enough to hold the film together. It's like no one was actually in charge of the film. The elements of a good film were all over the plaace.
Drivve Angry wasn't really impressive. I think the fact that cars were used a lot in this film was not enough for the viewers to relate the concept of "drive angry" to the tnire story of the film.
However, it's nice that there's an element of fun in it. It's not really an utter waste of time. There were funny bad-ass moments but the overall impact of the film to the audience was pretty much non-existent.
