Review of Drive (2011) by Rex A — 12 Oct 2013
While its mixture of methodical pacing and infrequent dialogue might clash with the violent murders for some, I thought this film was set up and executed perfectly. Gosling is as good as I've ever seen him.
Production value and cinematography are equally beautiful, the narrative is shocking and gripping... pretty much everything is insanely cool, for lack of a better word. And WHAT did it get nominated for at the Oscars?!? Best Sound Mixing or something!?! Enormous snub.
