Review of Drive (2011) by Tommy H — 07 Apr 2015
What you get out of the film depends on what you put into it. If you only see what's on the surface the film will be unappealing. If you don't fight it, Drive will make you very curious and make you analyze Gosling's character, going on what little clues is given.
The character develops in your mind and not on the screen. It's a personal experience. You project your own identity to fill in the blanks, but really any interpretations are valid because it's all very subjective.
The scene in the elevator is when Drive puts on the brakes, pushes a gun in your face and tells you to make up your mind. Are you with him or are you against him?
