Review of Drinking Buddies (2013) by Emma T — 04 Nov 2013
Convincing, low-key, realistic performances with a storyline that does not bow to convention, makes Drinking Buddies a solid hit for the indie crowd. Virtually plot-free, this slice of life mumblecore flick explores the boundary between friendship and the possibilities of 'something else' between kate & Luke who both work at a micro-brewery.
The improvisation has been carefully prepped, and the effect is very natural and convincing performances. The warm cinematography is an added bonus.
