Review of Drillbit Taylor (2008) by Chris E — 12 Dec 2008
It's great to see real kids playing kids, rather than 20 year-olds who aren't anywhere near as geeky as we're supposed to believe they are. The 3 main guys and Owen Wilson are pretty average, as is the flick overall.
It's definetly entertaining, but it could have been funnier, with a lot of the jokes missing the mark completely (The kids honestly believe the bully is going to KILL them... I mean, really?). Even if the good-guy never wins in real life, it's pretty gratifying whatching it happen, with the last act being the inevitable payoff you know is coming, but that's done suprisingly well.
