Review of Dressed to Kill (1980) by Duncan R — 26 Jan 2009
Meh. The premise was great, and the movie itself could've been a lot better. But the opening scene dragged, the music and acting were too over-the-top to be taken seriously (Sir Michael Caine being an exception, he was pretty good), and the last 20 minutes or so felt like an amalgamation of other movies' best scenes tacked on to further unnecessarily bulk up the running time.
That being said, the cinematography was stylish, and there were good bits of tension here and there. Still, if more competent actors were cast in some of the roles, and if some of the fat were trimmed, this would've been right up my alley.
As it is, sadly, I found it to have been a waste of my time. Thankfully, I saw it for free.
