Review of Dressed to Kill (1980) by Tor M — 06 Jul 2017
Brian De Palma is pulling of a cool crime thriller with his brutal and sexy film. A lady with some issues is seeing a psychatrist. Later on she is brutally killed in an escalator with a razor, pretty brutally too. One woman witness it, a high-class call girl out on a job. She is claiming she saw a mysterious blonde do it, but the police is making her the main suspect. Many people are involved - police, husbands, doctors, patients, family victims and so on.
Quite a nice cast too with an underused Michael Caine as the biggest star. Dennis Franz from "NYPD Blue" is also present - thats cool. It's got a great vibe. Some very long suspenseful scenes, some scenes are more mysterious and even trippy. The split screen part is confusing, but is in for good use.
Some snappy comments is on the plus side, but the last three or four scenes are making my rating drop a bit.
6.5 out of 10 razors.
