(1980) Dressed To Kill.
ADULT MYSTERY SUSPENSE.
Brian DePalma attempting to make another Hitchcock suspense movie starring Angie Dickenson, Michael Caine and Nancy Allen. Five minutes in and we see Dickenson as Kate Miller showering who begins touching herself while staring through the showering glass at her husband through the open door of their bedroom. And we're seeing Kate fully naked and stuff except that it's obvious to viewers that a body double had been used. This scene is not necessary except that DePalma wanted to say to viewers that Kate is frustrated and that is the reason she has to see a shrink by the name of Doctor Robert Elliott played by Caine. What happens next consists of more scenes of nothing until she start to have an affair with an unknown person she had met at an art gallery. Now, it's important to remind viewers that there is only one scene somewhere along the beginning that may help explain the end for some viewers may have already figured out the revelation way before it actually happens. The movie is okay except that the Angie Dickenson character as Kate conducted by DePalma is sometimes hard to identify in terms of an actual person for it sometimes feels like a 45 minute mystery drama made into a longer movie. "Psycho" is obviously one of DePalma's influences to the making of it. And DePalma made another movie similar in response to this one in 1984 called "Body Double".
2.5 out of 4 stars.
