Review of Dredd (2012) by Ryan V — 26 Aug 2014

Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is a taciturn cop who must use ruthless methods to pacify a dystopic mega-city. While breaking in a psychic cadet (Olivia Thirlby), Dredd finds himself trapped in a massive building that's filled with heavily-armed goons and their sadistic leader (Lena Headey).

As you can likely surmise, Dredd is little more than an extended gunfight that's occasionally interrupted with either explosions or one-liners. It's not an ambitious movie, but it hits the mark if one is simply looking for a competent and highly stylized action movie.
