This ain't your Daddy's Dredd!
This movie is about as far from the campy goofiness of the Stallone version as one can. Karl Urban gives a spot on performance as the grim Judge Dredd, and is helped by the atmospheric backdrop of Metro City 1 and the mega-slum Peach Trees.
This is a grim and gritty action movie. Gone are wacky humor and catchphrases. The only laughs to be had are had over generic thugs suffering as Dredd kills his way through an entire block to get the guilty and judge them.
A top notch action movie that I would love to see more from.
