Forget the other Dredd film and don't let it colour your judgement of this one. This is a bad film. A thin forgettable plot, with dull plodding pacing and gratuitous violence for for gratuitous sake.
Completely lacks a soul or a sense of humour and for such a grim film there's no redemption or message to be discerned. The highest praise you'll ever hear of it is, 'well at least it's better than the Stallone one'.
As a Dredd story perhaps, but as a movie no.
