Review of Dredd (2012) by Paul K — 23 Feb 2014
Seriously underrated. Gritty and no holds barred, exactly what I want from a Judge Dredd movie. It is a shame that this movie did so poorly, as I would love a sequel. Lots of pretty blood and brilliant slo-mo scenes light up the screen as Dredd and co fight through a tower block, locked down by Ma-Ma, a chilling villian with a refreshingly unique backstory. Urban does a brilliant job as the infamous Dredd, the voice is spot on, with loads of memorable moments. " Ma ma is not the law.
I'm the law" that'll send shivers down your spine.I Recommend for old Dredd fans and new alike. If anyone takes up the mantle of the Dredd franchise in the future, they should take serious note of this rendition, which in my opinion captures the comics perfectly.
