Review of Dredd (2012) by Ken S — 25 May 2015
Criminally underrated, one of the greatest remakes of all time and a film which fits the dark tone of comic books. However the most important thing is that it's better than the original, which in all honesty isn't very hard.
The masterstroke from Pete Travis though was casting Karl Urban as the legendary Judge Dredd. He is perfect for role, although that's mainly because his face isn't shown and his voice is spot on. What stopped this film from being a hit was it's 18 rating, this is because the kind of people who watch this film aren't 18.
