Review of Dreamscape (1984) by Luc L — 02 Sep 2010
A definite influence of inception. Although overall this is a total instant sci-fi classic of its time, it definitely did not go nearly as deep as inception. that much depth and extra mind bending was not used in the 80's for the most part, so dreamscape was a very very basic movie with a basic plot, and had understandable science and fun characters.
and its got dennis quaid. so even though this movie would not reach todays standards for a sci fi thriller having to do with psychics, you have to appreciate how brilliantly simple that time was, and how complex and confusing we need to see things for them to be good these days.
even though I liked inception more overall, this was also a great film.
