Review of Dreamgirls (2006) by Tony O — 28 Dec 2009
A sizzling adaptation of a successful Broadway musical of the same name, Dreamgirls is visually spectacular and entertaining. Hudson steals the spotlight in her ferocious role of Effie White, emoting with a vulnerability akin to a veteran actor, and possessing powerhouse vocals which would knock any American Idol contestant (or most seasoned singers) out of the park.
