Review of Dreamgirls (2006) by Elizabeth N — 08 Jan 2010

I missed the start of this film so I might need to review it again in the near future, but I did get to see most of it and I have to say it really surpised me. I'd heard mixed reviews about this film and about the acting but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The storyline kept me interested, the songs were good and the acting was fantastic. Jennifer Hudson in particular really suprised me, she carried that film at times and you could tell she put her life and soul into the part. I also thought Beyonce did a great performance, and Jamie Foxx did another good turn out for the books - this time I couldn't wait for his character to get his just disserts.

I also loved some of the outfits the girls had to wear, I'd love to have the chance to play dress up like that!

Overall a really enjoyable watch, it might not be to everyones taste but I loved it.
