Review of Dreamgirls (2006) by Caleb M — 02 Mar 2010
Incredibly fun, spirited musical that falters a bit during the third act but makes up for it with energy and emotion throughout. Jennifer Hudson is a revelation and Murphy redeems himself from some of the junk he has under his belt.
You can tell this started as a semi-Beyonce vehicle and the script, songs and Hudson just stepped in and took it over, and it adds to the energy and fun of the picture.
