Review of Dreamcatcher (2003) by Shinyhappypurple . — 30 Aug 2011
This movie is probably one of the most blatantly "Stephen King" movies I've seen in a while. It's not terrible, certainly - the "Memory Warehouse" concept is fantastically rendered and the relationship between these five childhood friends is heartwarming to say the least.
I'd even go so far as to say that the acting is pretty decent. But, when you've seen one Stephen King monster story set in the Maine wilderness full of flashbacks, you've seen them all, and this one is far from the most elegantly handled.
I'd say it's worth a watch, if you're into that sort of thing - but no more than that.
