Review of Dreamcatcher (2003) by Robert T — 23 Jan 2009
Though the film had some interesting moments, I was actually hoping for more -- from the plot and the cast. The film started out a little slow somewhat, but still compelling enough for me to continue watching the rest of the film.
I read a short description on the film before viewing, and I thought the four main actors were the aliens, but as the film progressed, I guess they weren't. Instead, the four were attacked by aliens.
The concept of aliens invading Earth is a little odd, and well, a little cliche at times, but the difference is that this film represented an alien that came out of people's bottom. The film never really explained why they did that, or why they were even on Earth in the first place.
Yes, the film had some questions that needed to be answered. Sadly, most of them were unanswered, but that didn't really bothered me all that much. Some of the film's images and metaphors were interesting, but lacked substances.
The film's story and plot needed to be tweaked a little more to refine it. I felt confused, but not bored. The film's cast was alright -- none really interested me, but that doesn't mean they were bad.
Just weren't that interesting. Overall, there were some minor and major bumps in the film, I thought the film was still engaging. Some of the visuals were interesting, and that's a plus. But a negative side to the film was the ending.
The ending was too sudden for me. They should at least build up what would actually happened.
