Review of Dream House (2011) by Gaby P — 28 Aug 2012
Frankly, I don't understand why most critics did not like this film and only a few people actually enjoyed it. What I do know is that it suffered tremendously from horrible marketing. No, this is not a scary film nor is it the next paranormal activity.
Speaking of the latter, I can't quite comprehend how Paranormal activity is far more popular and likable than the Dream House. But, that's another story. The plot is pretty simple. Sure, it keeps you guessing and it might confuse some in the beginning.
However, the ending delivers a heart wrenching resolution to the mystery. I can see how those who don't belive in an afterlife or things of that sort would be turned off by the film. Nonetheless, the heart and the essence of the story lies in the strong and loving bond between Will (Daniel Craig) and his family.
