Review of Dream House (2011) by Max H — 05 Jan 2013
Where do I begin? Dream House's story is in so many fragments that it is impossible to piece together. For all the budgeteers in the world, if you've seen the trailer, you've basically seen the whole movie.
It is really sad because I really respect Daniel Craig as an actor and hate to see this film be so bad, I mean I tried to like it. It's like seeing the twist to a film that you've already seen coming since the beginning but Dream House takes absurd turns and has such poor maneuvers.
I mean the films should've taken another hour to be able to at least piece the whole film together. Instead you are given with a lot of loopholes that you don't understand, I mean you don't even know why the family even died? You have no backstory on that.
This is coming from a six time Academy Award nominee director! I would've expected more, but I took comfort in the fact that I kind of liked the story, I mean if someone had come in and edited the film it would've been a great film.
In the end Dream House isn't worth it unless you want to see Danial Craig.
