Review of Dream Home (2010) by Kenneth Y — 17 May 2010
Inappropriately Bad Directing and Acting Performances, The Worst Pangâ??s Movie Ever.
Cheng Lai Sheung (Josie Ho) has a dream. She wants to own her a prefect tiny apartment since she was a child. However the price grosses rapidly, she does whatever it takes with the aim of achieve her dream - from working to killing.
Gore and nudity (although you may not fancy for) are what the movie all about. Despite it is not an uncut edition in the public release, it may not make a huge difference in between (except for the blood and awakening).
In the plot, Sheung tends towards a psycho, a serial killer. It means to be there should be a development due to the pressure and conditions surrounding her. But the lead role Josie Ho presents it with her deathly and rote delivery. As always, she fully demonstrates how narcissistic and egotistic can an actress be.
The director (Pang Ho-Cheung) sets the movie in flashbacks to give an account for the background of the leading character, but it failed to put a varnish on the absence of story-telling.
Watch this, and then you will soon understand why Pang quitted in the post-production stage. Although Pang denied this, I hope this is truth.
